Today’s card on the deck is the Temperance tarot card. The card depicts the figure of an angel who appears to be female. She is clothed in a cloak and adorns her head with a garland of flowers. She holds two cups in her hand where it appears that she is pouring a liquid from one cup to the other. One of her feet is in dry land while the other one is immersed in the stream that is in front of her. There is a mountain behind her and an emerging sun behind the mountains. Her facial expression screams focus to avoid any distraction in what she is doing.
The upright Temperance card is a sign of good luck and it calls you to take a risk and do what you dread the most. Maybe at the beginning of the year, you set up some goals which you wanted to fulfil or rather a bucket list of crazy activities you wanted to try out yet you have not. You have been hesitant and you avoid them at any cost even if it includes giving lame excuses just to console yourself that it is okay to let them stay pending. You need to trade the fear that stops you from taking the risk and purchase courage.
Like the angel pouring out a liquid from one cup to another, you need to trade your insecurities to create space for courage. You cannot absorb positive energy while you still possess negative energy thus you have to trade it first. Suppose you want to start a business yet you are afraid of failure, afraid of competitors, you dread the possible customer complaints that may arise, the thought of making losses deprives you of sleep, among other fears, will you ever venture into it? Of course not! Fear has a way of making possible things look impossible. It has the power to make even the most powerful king a slave. If you cannot trade your fear then you will lead the rest of your life under the shadow of those who take risks.
While the card calls you to trade your comfort for risks, it reminds you to be cautious. Just like the angel dips his foot in the water, probably to check the depth, before fully immersing himself, you cannot run to take a risk just because you want to be recognized as a risk taker. Remember that risk is never a certainty thus trading for it does not guarantee you success, but only gives you the chance to acquire success. If you run to fully immerse yourself in a risky affair before conducting thorough research to ascertain whether you can handle the waters, you will definitely end up drowning.
The Sun in the card is a reminder to take up the opportunities while they are still there, else you might come out after the sun sets only to end up blaming others. The universe has granted you everything you need to trade your fear for courage thus you only need to take caution. In addition, remember to establish balance in your life so that you can realize maximum returns.
