Today’s card on the deck is the Devil card. It depicts the image of a creature, who must be the devil, with wings, horns, and talons. He raises his right hand while holding a torch in his left. There are two figures naked in front of him who appear to be a male and a female demon owing to the fact that they have small horns and tails. The female demon has a pomegranate tail while the male demon has a fire tail. They both have chains around their necks which are linked to the square pedestal that the devil is squatted on.
Drawing the upright Devil card could indicate that you are still linked to your past. You are finding it difficult to release and let it go and this is restricting you from moving forward as you are supposed to. When a child is in their mother’s womb, the umbilical cord enables the child to receive the required nutrients from the mother with the help of the placenta. When the child is born, the umbilical cord has to be cut for them to begin a new life in the world. The womb is a past they have to let go of and learn to be independent to be able to survive. In the same manner, growth will never be achievable if you are still attached to the cord that links you to your past. No matter how painful you think it might be, the Devil card is a challenge for you to cut the cord.
Like the human demons in the Devil card, your past has the power to completely transform you from the person that you used to be. It may be a positive or a negative transformation depending on how you take it. If you dwell on the failures of your past, high chances are that they will affect your self-esteem and you will be stuck on it believing that you can never achieve anything. However, you can make an about turn by choosing to learn from your past failures and acknowledging them as lessons for your future. The reality is that if you choose to learn from your failures and embrace them, then nobody will be in a position to use them against you or try to convince you to lose your confidence. Like a child who absorbs cord blood which is beneficial to their health, you ought to absorb the lessons of the past for a healthy future.
The Devil card is also a reminder that you need to be careful of the people around you for they have an impact on your success. There are people whom you associate with and you think they care about you yet they only manipulate you. They hold the knife for you to cut the cord that attaches you to your past failures yet they will not hello you out because they are aware that you will leave them behind and unveil the greatness in you. Like the human demons, you begin to absorb their energy by staying close to them.
